Charlotte Lucy Gainsbourg (born 21 July 1971) is a British-French actress and singer. Gainsbourg was born in London, England. She was, however, raised in Paris, France. She is the daughter of British actress and singer Jane Birkin and French actor and singer Serge Gainsbourg. Gainsbourg's longtime boyfriend and spouse is the French actor and director Yvan Attal, with whom she has two children, Benjamin and Alice. On 5 September 2007, Gainsbourg was rushed to a Paris hospital where she underwent surgery for a cerebral haemorrhage.
