Check Fergie´s interview for the December issue of Playboy Brazil!
1 – You acted on Grindhouse, a project of weird scary movies made by Quentin Tarantino and Robert Rodriguez. Which of them is the crazier guy?

Fergie: I have a small part, a girl called Tammy, on Robert´s segment [Planet Terror]. But Quentin made a scene with me. I was running and at a certain point, he had a mask on and attacked me. He bit me! We had to re make that scene for about 10 times and he was doing that weird noise and biting me, I was all purple. He really goes into the character. That is amazing.

2 – You were very young when you started in show business. When was the first time you made an effort to entertain people?

Fergie: Oh, I never did any effort [laughs]. I used to act like in TV commercials in the kitchen at home. I watched many musicals when I was a child, like in West Side Story, Okalahoma!, Peter Pan and Annie. When I was six years old, my mom saw an announcement for Karen's Kids, a group that performed at shopping centers. She already knew that I wanted to be an artist and asked me if I would like to participate of it.

3 – You also participated in the cartoon Charlie Brown, as Lucy and Sally´s voices. How did they talk like?

Fergie: Sally´s favorite quote was [speaking in Sally´s voice]: “Linus, you are my sweetheart”. And Lucy was like [speaking in Lucy´s voice]: “Charlie Brown, you fool!”. It was funny to take part in Charlie Brown. My mom taped everything, but I have never watched it. I should take those tapes on tour with me. It would be hilarious.

4 – You also participated in a TV series in the 80´s with Jennifer Love Hewitt. Are you embarrassed when you watch it on tv?

Fergie: Yes, every time that I watch it, I see how bad an actress I was. It was so bad that it was even very good.

5 – Have you ever had an ordinary job?

Fergie: Once I worked as a babysitter because of a friend who also did it. What I really wanted to do was to get inside people´s houses and see what they had in the refrigerator. But I have been working as an artist since I was 6 years old and I consider it as my profession.

6 – Do you feel glad because you were not a teen pop star, like Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera?

Fergie: Oh, for sure! I can handle anything without all the paparazzi on my back.

7 – You were in a group with two other girls, Wild Orchid, which had two albums released. But you left the group because of drugs. When did you realize you were in big trouble?

Fergie: I think it was in the night that I ended up on the floor of a bathroom. I was on my limit, but I was lucky to be supported by my mom at that time. I had to go back to her house and concentrate on music. One of the tracks in “The Dutchess”, “Losing My Ground”, is about that period. I stopped my car and wrote the lyrics in 15 minutes. It is a very strong message.

8 – How did you get clean from the addiction?

Fergie: I did therapy. I still do it. I need it. I used to go to the Narcotics Anonymous. Hypnotherapy also helped me a lot. The first time that I did it was hilarious. I arrived there and told the doctor that I did not want to do any Hypnotherapy shit, I only wanted the traditional therapy. The next time I was there, I was biting my nails. I said that I wanted to get clean and agreed to face any hypnosis. Then I laid down and it was amazing..It worked.

9 – What are you treating on Hypnotherapy nowadays?

Fergie: My therapist knows about it. I will tell you later.

10 – With your last name, Ferguson, how many people have the nickname Fergie in your family?

Fergie: It is a family nickname. We have some variants. My sister Dana for instance, is Ferg. Fergie was something to be used on a solo álbum, but then I joined the Black Eyed Peas. It was a kind of rebirth after I quit the drugs, a new beginning.

11 – James Brown was featured on the Black Eyed Peas album, Monkey Business album. How was working with the King of Soul?

Fergie: Surreal. Everyone in my group was extremelly well dressed. When someone wanted to take a picture of us altogether, James just snapped his fingers and one of his people brought him a hairbrush. He didn´t have any hair up, but he wanted to comb his hair anyway.

12 – The Dutchess is your first solo album. Why did you want to work alone?

Fergie: The Black Eyed Peas music is something to party. And in that context, I didn´t know if people would like to know a more intimate side of me, more romantic and sexy. I wanted to show a bit of this side. The next album will be all about reggae or hip-hop.

13 – You worked with Will.i.am of the Black Eyed Peas, on The Dutchess. Weren´t you worried about making a solo album with another member of the band?

Fergie: The plan was to work with Will since the beginning. I only took this plan ahead. It was also convenient because we were on tour and I needed to finish the album. If it were all in my hands, I would be recording it until now.

14 – In 2005, there was a picture showing that you apparently peed on your pants during a concert in San Diego. What was your reaction when you saw that picture?

Fergie: I felt ashamed. Everyone told me that I should not talk about it, but I wanted to tell what really happened. People advised me not to do so, and I agreed for a few times. But now I am honest about it. It is really embarrassing.

15 – What can you tell about that period nowadays?

Fergie: I can say whatever I want to. And I will say only the truth. I was late for the concert. I had the option to go to the backstage and wear my outfits and make-up or run straight to the stage. The show had just started and I chose the stage because I respected the ones who had bought the tickets.

16 – You met Sarah Ferguson, the Duchess of York?

Fergie: We talked on the phone and arranged a meeting. She picked up the phone to talk to me and it was flattering and surreal at the same time. I mean, she is a member of the royal family… It was very nice.. I think we will plan a charity event. It will take time until things happen, but we will do it.

17 –Josh Duhamel, your boyfriend, is the star from the TV show Las Vegas. How did you meet?

Fergie: I met him on his TV show. I had read in a magazine that he had an erotic dream with me in it. All my friends told me that I should meet him. Then, when we met on his TV show, I said: “I read you had a dream about me.” He said “Yeah!”, and I asked: “Was it good?”. He said it was. Then the thing happened.

18 – Do you oblige him to dance to the Black Eyed Peas songs with you?

Fergie: If I force him? He makes sure that he wants to dance [laughs] He loves dancing. When we dance I have to step on his shoes, I am very short. Luckily I took ballet, so I know how to stand en pointe. But he dances just for me when we are alone. And I also dance just for him and wearing some really interesting outfits. He bought me a pair of these amazing leather boots, with huge heels and long zipper. It takes a lot of time to wear it, but it is really worth it.

19 – Do you usually wear another outfit when you are with him?

Fergie: Oh, I wear everything that you can imagine.

20 – You spend almost 300 days in a year away touring with the Black Eyed Peas. How do you handle so much time on the road?

Fergie: Recently, I had the Idea to take my mom with me. It was nice, makes me feel like a normal person. And I use the phone pretty much. My bill is really high, the last one was about 1000 dollars! I think it is getting really serious.
