Before and After: Dining Room

Here are some before and after shots of our dining room. When we first moved in it was painted a boring shade of beige and had a brass chandelier that really wasn't our style. The first thing we did was spray paint the chandelier matte black to make it look like wrought iron. Then we painted the walls blue and added a chair rail. Lastly, we added crown moulding. Hopefully someday we'll add picture frame moulding under the chair rail.

Oh it's so lovely!! Was the painting on the wall your inspiration? Because it looks perfect in there!! I love the paint technique you did on the chandelier, and the crown molding is gorgeous!

thanks kim! Actually, we got the painting after we painted the walls- i love it though- it almost looks like the water from the painting is spilling out onto the walls...

Exactly! that's what I was thinking, that you pulled a color out of the painting to use on the walls - how great that it was such a perfect match after the fact! You did a really great job!

Tweet, I love it. I love how the colors just come together. It is fabulous.

Can any policy, however high minded, be moral if it leads to widespread corruption, imprisons so many, has so racist an effect, destroys our inner cities, wreaks havoc on misguided & vulnerable individuals and brings death and destruction to foreign countries?

I've always loved this kind of look. It looks very classy and can easily be dressed up or down for whatever you need it to do. So pretty. Love the paint color.
