She looks like an old lady without makeup.

Were these taken in the same date range? Because I think that in the movie that she was in with Will Ferrell....hmmm... can't remember the name, I think she looks just like that bottom picture with makeup. Oh, and the glasses make her look older also.

What happened to that cute face?

To be fair, the second photo was taken when she issued a press statement the morning after she and Kenneth Brannagh split.
She reported that she had been crying all night.
I look bad in the morning at the best of times, let alone if I've spent the night crying!

She's still a dearheart in my book.
