Channing Tatum's new movie Battle in Seattle will premiere in the US some time later this year. Written and directed by Stuart Townsend, Battle in Seattle is based on what was considered to be one of the most incendiary political uprisings in our generation. The movie takes an in-depth look at the five days that rocked the world in 1999 as thousands of demonstrators protested the meeting of the World Trade Organization (WTO) in Seattle's streets. Although it began as a peaceful protest with a goal of stopping the WTO talks, the protest quickly escalated into a full-scale riot and eventual State of Emergency that put peaceful and unarmed protesters against the Seattle Police Department and the National Guard.
