I just got this posting from one of my safety blogs. I work as a Safety & Health Officer on a hazardous waste site. My husband is a social worker at our county jail. Do any of you have any "dirty jobs" or potentially unsafe jobs?

*******************************************
Top 10 Dangerous Occupations

1. Fishers and related fishing workers
2. Aircraft pilots and flight engineers
3. Logging workers
4. Structural iron and steelworkers
5. Refuse and recyclable material collectors
6. Farmers and ranchers
7. Electrical power-line installers and repairers
8. Roofers
9. Driver/sales workers and truck drivers
10. Miscellaneous agricultural workers

The Bureau of Labor Statistics reports these were the top occupations for workplace fatalities in 2006. That is the most recent year for which information is available.

Wow. You and your hubby are certainly doing what I consider to be potentially hazadous jobs. Both mine and my husband's jobs are fairly safe by the standards of this list.

Interesting List. Not many people think of the danger that Fishers face, but it is tough working daily on the water.

I didn't realize that you're in a hazardous job, td. Be careful!!

I used to be an Iron Worker...hazardous job #4...except I worked in the Union Hall as a Secretary! lol...I had to really watch out for those dangerous paper cuts!!

Oh, paper cuts are so scary (tee hee hee). Yes, I work in a hazardous place. I take comfort knowing that "my guys" go home to their families safely.
