I realize that Comic-con is growing in popularity, but Preview Night is supposed to be for the die hards. Previously, it was only available to those who held 4 day passes for the whole con, but now they've opened it up for purchase along with any other passes as well and the difference is definitely noticeable. The floor was packed with people- we could hardly move. My first stop was at the Peanuts booth where I picked up one of their exclusive Snoopy t-shirts and their Comic-con lanyard (for my badge) like I do every year. Then we wandered the rest of the night, picking up some swag and trying to navigate through the booths and figure out what we wanted to hit later on and where the best free stuff was coming from. Asides from the normal buttons, pens, and stickers, we managed to grab some nice WB bags that will hold all our stuff throughout the rest of the weekend and a few exclusive Star Trek posters from the upcoming film. Here are some pics that I snapped of the floor tonight:
I've perused the schedule for tomorrow and it looks like I'll be starting out or a bit on the floor, then headed to the gigantic Hall H for the 20th Century Fox and Summit Entertainment panels. Then I'm going to try to head over to one of the smaller rooms to catch HBO's True Blood panel. I'd love to stick around for the following Dexter panel to glimpse Michael C. Hall, but since I've still never seen the show (and own the first season), I don't want to spoil anything for myself when I finally do get around to it. So I'll probably finish up on the floor tomorrow unless there's a good screening or anything else exciting going on. It'll be nice to wander around as Friday and Saturday will likely be spent in Hall H all day.
Watching every motion
In my foolish lover's game
On this endless ocean
Finally lovers know no shame
Turning and returning
To some secret place inside
Watching in slow motion
As you turn around and say
Take my breath away
Watching I keep waiting
Still anticipating love
Never hesitating
To become the fated ones
Turning and returning
To some secret place to hide
Watching in slow motion
As you turn to me and say
Take my breath away
Take my breath away
Through the hourglass I saw you
In time you slipped away
When the mirror crashed I called you
And turned to hear you say
If only for today
I am unafraid
Take my breath away
Take my breath away
Watching every motion
In this foolish lover's game
Haunted by the notion
Somewhere there's a love in flames
Turning and returning
To some secret place inside
Watching in slow motion
As you turn my way and say
Everyone falls in love sometime
Sometimes it's wrong
And sometimes it's right
For every win
Someone must fail
But there comes a point when
When we exhale (yeah, yeah, say)
[Chorus:]
Shoop, Shoop, Shoop
Shoo Be Doop Shoop Shoop (yeah)
Shoo Be Doop Shoop Shoop
(All you got to say is shoo be doop)
Shoo Be Doop Shoop Shoop
Shoo Be Doop Shoop Shoop (Shoo be doop)
Shoo Be Doop Shoop Shoop
Shoo Be Doop Shoop Shoop
Shoo Be Doo
Sometimes you'll laugh
Sometimes you'll cry
Life never tells us
The when's or why's
When you've got friends to wish you well
You'll find a point when
You wille exhale (yeah, yeah, say)
[Chorus:]
Shoop, Shoop, Shoop
Shoo Be Doop Shoop Shoop
Shoo Be Doop Shoop Shoop (shoo shoo shoo huh)
Shoo Be Doop Shoop Shoop
Shoo Be Doop Shoop Shoop (Sho0 be)
Shoo Be Doop Shoop Shoop (Say shoop say shoo be say shoo be)
Shoo Be Doop Shoop Shoop (say shoo-hoo say sho)
Shoo Be Doo (be doo oh)
Hearts are often broken
When there are words unspoken
In your soul there's
Answers to your prayers
If you're searching for
A place you know
A familiar face
Somewhere to go
You should look inside yourself
You're halfway there
[Repeat Verse 2]
[Chorus:]
Shoop, Shoop, Shoop (Shoo Be)
Shoo Be Doop Shoop Shoop (Shoo Be)
Shoo Be Doop Shoop Shoop (Shoo Be)
Shoo Be Doop Shoop Shoop (Shoo-hoo-hoo be)
Shoo Be Doop Shoop Shoop (Shoo be doop doop doop hoo hoo hoo)
Shoo Be Doop Shoop Shoop (do do shoo be shoo be feels alright)
Shoo Be Doop Shoop Shoop (You can say oh)
Shoo Be Doo
Comic-con is this weekend ya'll and I'm soooo disappointed that I can't go!!! I'll be in Vegas with all my buddies dancing my butt off, but if you're in San Diego be sure to keep an eye out for the guy in the big Igor costume. A camera crew is going to be there capturing first reactions to Igor the comic book – a movie prequel – AND giving people an opportunity to talk with the writer Chris McKenna (of American Dad!).
Fun stuff. I want to go If you stop by tell me how it went.
