Ever wanted to draw Star Wars characters and vehicles just like the professional comic book artists, like and Imperial Scout Trooper? Well he's something for the kiddies to do over the weekend. Have them challenge each other or even you. See who can draw the better Storm Tropper for fun.

In this step-by-step series, Star Wars artists and illustrators show you how to draw some of the most beloved characters in the saga.
In Return of the Jedi you can spot scout troopers riding Imperial speeder bikes and so they are sometimes referred to as biker scouts. Like stormtroopers, they wear a black body glove covered with white armor. Their helmets include built-in comlinks, breathing units and computers that map the area a scout traverses.

Star Wars illustrator Cat Staggs explains with these easy-to-follow steps on how to draw a Imperial scout trooper.

Steps 1-5 are to be drawn lightly with a pencil. No pen, no dark lines. Finished lines and details will come at the end.

Step One:
Start with the basic skeleton. Get the basic shapes and lay them out. Scout helmets have a very square shape to them so what we have here is the simple shape breakdown of the helmet.

Step Two:
Now round those corners off -- along the top of the helmet and the sides; the goggle area as well as the mouth and nose area.

Step Three:
Next add in some more detail. Draw in the bill to the helmet across the top, much like a baseball cap; then down the sides of the face like ear flaps. Next sketch the outer edges of the goggles and the lip around the respirator of the mouth and nose. Once you have gotten this stage complete you can erase the box skeleton from Step 1.

Step Four:
Continue to add more details to the helmet. If you are not sure what goes where, it's helpful to find a reference of the subject you are drawing. Scout trooper images can be found on the Internet, in books or in the movies.

Step Five:
Now you need something to support the helmet -- so add the neck and shoulders. Add the chest plate and the shoulder armor.

Step Six:
Now we have taken an ink pen or marker and have filled in the black of the shirt and the goggles. We left some areas of goggles white. These will become reflections. Make sure when you are inking your drawing that you only ink the lines you want. You do not have to ink every line. You will then erase the extra pencil lines leaving you with a crisp black and white drawing.

Step Seven:
Feel free to add as much detail or as little as you like. I chose to add the highlights and shadows along with some battle damage like the dirt smudges and scuffs on the armor.
