The Palin Plunge: Voters Sour On McCain VP Pick

The more voters learn about Sarah Palin, the more wary they become. Once the focus of post-convention Republican euphoria, the Alaska Governor is now viewed as a serious liability to the McCain campaign.

As it stands, Palin's polling numbers are daunting: with the unfolding economic crisis, her favorable to unfavorable ratings have switched from a positive 40-30, according to a September 12-16 New York Times survey, to a negative 32-41 in an October 10-13 survey.

He made the extreme right happy, and that's all McCain wanted, to get their votes. Maybe he didn't expect that the same people who supported him years ago would go sour on him because of that.

He sold out, all he wanted was to become President. Even if he had to let go of his old "Maverick" ways.

You know what's sooo funny about all of this. The extreme right has two choices (ok 3 really) (1) Vote for McCain, (2) Vote for Obama, (3) Don't vote at all.

I think the extreme right would have voted for McCain no matter what he did or who was besides him. I just don't see them ever voting for Obama so McCain -- I think shot himself in the foot. The old McCain would have pulled in the moderate repubs and as a default the extreme righties. But now, the mods are questioning his every move and even voting for his opponent. Indirectly - McCain's extreme right change is helping Obama.

What I find very interesting is how all the underground and unspoken racism is coming out now that Obama is ahead on the polls. And I believe that we needed it because we need to realistically assess this issue in order to be able to solve it.

Fair and interesting point. Yeah -- a lot of it was underground -- way ore than I had first thought.

I have actually been following this subject for a while now, and I knew how deep rooted racism still is. Scratch the surface a little and there it is.

My mom reads the Wall St. Journal religiously & she told me that some of the hard-core right wing editorials have been calling her things like "dope" & "moron"

WTF??? Really -- now that's interesting. You think they would just blindly go with the flow.

You know -- I think there are some people that really like the pick, some people blindly following along, and some people who openly disagree but McCain is their man -- for those people , the pick is fine for them.
