Joel Madden got his fans excited when he blogged Saturday: "WE DID IT!! NICOLE AND I FINALLY GOT MARRIED!! Click here for pictures!!"

Too bad he was just joking — and calling out Star magazine for falsely reporting he was planning a $2 million wedding to the mother of his five-month-old daughter, Harlow.

"HAHA. JUST KIDDING," Madden, 30, blogged. "So I feel really stupid even posting this, but I've been getting calls and texts from my family all week asking me why they weren't invited to my wedding."

I guess the only answer I could give them was that I didn't know we were having one!" he added. "So I just found that Star magazine wrote some story about a 2 MILLION dollar wedding we are supposed to be having, and that's where it came from.

"Sooooo if you were pi--ed at me for not inviting you or even telling you, don't blame me, there's nothing to worry about," Madden wrote. "It's just Star magazine. How long do you think it will be before they write we called it off, or we broke up? I give them a week or two......."

Madden also posted pictures of two gorillas posing together in a tux and wedding dress, asking his fans to, "Check out my blog for a picture of me and my beautiful bride. All I can say is I am so very happy......."
