I hadn't gotten my issue of Harp Magazine in a long while so I went onto their website to find out how to contact them.

And on the site, there was a message that the magazine had ceased publication as of the March/April issue. Apparently they sent out a letter to their subscribers but I never got it.

I'm really bummed. It was a great magazine, totally right up my alley. I mean, almost every artist I liked was featured prominently in Harp at one time or another. And I discovered a ton of cool artists from the magazine, too. But apparently, circulation was down. BOOO!!!

Now I have to find another music magazine. I'm not a huge Paste fan. Maybe Magnet.

Anyway, I'm sad. Farewell to an awesome music magazine. Wave

That sucks. A lot of magazines are going down it seems.
My fav interior design mag hit the dust last December, House and Garden, the US edition. El sucko. Now it's website directs you to a sister magazine which is Domino, which I also like, but is basically a shopping magazine and much less artistic.

Circ started to suck. I got a letter a few months ago that they were going to cease publication and they sent me a check for my loyalty. Harp was my favorite mag to work for. Next to go will be Magnet, I think.

No, not in the last... oh, 10 months or so. I thought it was odd that they weren't farming out as much to their freelancers.

It was SUCH a good magazine, Aud. You can read some articles at HarpMagazine.com. From what I know of your musical taste, I think you'd have dug it.

Harp was a classy publication. Well laid out, well edited, well published. It was just a great mag and one of the few I actually subscribed to on a regular basis.

I know how you feel - One of my favorite online music magazines shut down last year and I was devesatated. I think I even blogged a eulogy. Can't remember the name of it now though.

DRAT! Suckus indeed. There are sooo many tabloid things out there that all repeat the same thing that stay afloat but pubs that deal with interesting people, content, places, ideas - not so much. It's definitely hard times for many magazines, newspapers, publishers and sites.
