Biography
Richard Gere was born in Philadelphia on August 31st 1949. After graduating from Syracuse High School in 1967, he won a gymnastic scholarship to the University of Massachusetts. He chose to major in philosophy but dropped out of college after just two years to pursue a career in acting.
