Biography
Richard Gere was born in Philadelphia on August 31st 1949. After graduating from Syracuse High School in 1967, he won a gymnastic scholarship to the University of Massachusetts. He chose to major in philosophy but dropped out of college after just two years to pursue a career in acting.

1. As rich businessman Edward Lewis who falls for prostitute Julia Roberts in the film Pretty Woman (1990). The love scene on the piano is one of many memorable moments.

Despite his premature gray hair, Richard has been one of Hollywood’s hottest actors for the last twenty years. His strong bone structure and seductive smile have been wowing audiences since Pretty Woman, and although he’s now into his fifth decade, he hasn’t really aged much at all.
