i just had a fabulous evening watching a movie about the journey to the Kentucky Derby. it's an indie film and there was a nice size crowd. Carson Kressley was also there this evening (he was in the movie).
it's really interesting to see the journey from the beginning. everyone has high hopes and dreams, but only one person can win. you're rooting for everyone, but the reality is that someone has to lose.
i'm going to get the DVD because i have to have this movie in my collection. if you're in NYC and free tomorrow, one of the trainers from the movie will be at the showing tomorrow. he's never seen the movie with a crowd, so i really wish i didn't have to work tomorrow!
it's truly a joy and the proceeds benefit the Grayson-Jockey Club Research Foundation (equine research).
